An Irishman appeared in court in Wales yesterday charged in connection with human trafficking. Thomas John Carroll (47) was one of 10 people arrested earlier this week after gardaí and the British authorities launched coordinated searches. Carroll, of Castlemartin, Pembrokeshire, west Wales, was brought before a court in Lllanelli charged with four offences. A woman, Shamiela Clark (31), with the same address, was also before the court. Both are accused of human trafficking into the UK, human trafficking out of the UK, controlling prostitution and money laundering. The seven people arrested in Ireland have not been charged but files are being prepared for the DPP.
