ONE of Ireland's smallest independent music festivals has been shortlisted for Best European Festival in the UK festival Awards. Castlepalooza, which only has a 2,000 capacity, has existed for just three years, but has already drawn praise from international press and punters alike. Early bird tickets for next year's event on the August Bank Holiday weekend have already gone on sale for €59. The Offaly festival faces stiff competition at the awards from another Irish festival, Oxegen , the 200,000 capacity Exit festival in Serbia, Denmark's Roskilde festival, and Spain's Benicassim.
