Is it possible that Ryan Tubridy's house band The Camembert Quartet are more rock'n'roll than the Sex Pistols?

I ask because both bands ended up holed up in the same hotel during The Electric Picnic.

Clint Velour of The Camembert Quartet told me, "We ran out of beer at the Picnic and headed back to the hotel. We were in our room having a party and the next thing we heard this cockney voice through the wall telling us to 'keep the racket daahhnn!'

"We didn't really believe it until reception rang and said that Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols was in a neighbouring room and had been complaining to them about the loud music."

Adding to Rotten's rage was that Camembert played the same record until 9am.

"It was The Rolling Stones' 'Let It Bleed' which, when you think about it, would be the worst possible thing to keep Johnny Rotten up with all night."

Tubridy Tonight Returns to RTÉ1 next Saturday 27 September.
