Haribo, maker of the chewy children's sweet Maoam, has come under fire for depicting what appears to be inter-fruit sex on its wrapper. Cartoon characters of lemons and limes appear in a carnal embrace on the wrapper, and now Haribo has been forced to address such fruitiness. Simon Simpkins, a parent from West Yorkshire complained to Haribo saying, "The lime, who I assume to be the gentleman in this coupling, has a particularly lurid expression on his face." Haribo has responded by saying the packaging is 'fun' and was introduced in Germany in 2002.
