THE Irish Red Cross has begun to roll out its aid campaign for those hit hardest by flooding. The organisation says it has begun to accept applications from those in dire need of financial assistance in the wake of widespread damage.
Applicants for assistance will not be subject to means testing, although an assessment process will be put in place. The Red Cross expects to raise around €1m. Payments from this fund will be considered independently of any other compensation or financial assistance people may have received in the aftermath of flooding.
