If you haven't seen Dara O Briain on the telly lately, that's because he's writing a book.

The Diary can reveal the Bray man is the latest star to pen his memoirs.

One wonders if Dara finally deciding to write his life story is anything to do with Wikipedia?

During the last few years the comic has been plagued by interviewers asking him about (a) his family's links to Michael Collins, (b) his collection of Coke cans and (c) why he travels for free on Aer Lingus?

None of the above are true by the way but they've all been taken as fact after being posted by mischief makers on internet encyclopaedia Wikipedia.

Whatever Dara does tell us about his early life in the book, don't expect an Angela's Ashes. He claims his childhood was a happy one which unfolded without major incident.

"I didn't suffer any trauma which pushed me into comedy. I'm just a fairly well-adjusted human being who likes getting laughs."
