The National Public Service Alliance union has called for an "unconditional and complete withdrawal" of the controversial pension levy and called for a sustained campaign of industrial action.
They said the wealthiest 1% in Ireland still have €87bn in assets at their disposal and would not pay a single penny of a "levy".
The alliance said Ictu had not gone far enough in calling for "complete withdrawal" of the levy and announced a public meeting to take place at the Teacher's Club this Thursday at 8.15pm.
