A PRIEST was assaulted during the Orange Order march in Belfast on Friday as he tried to stop youths throwing stones.
Fr Gary Donegan, parish priest at Holy Cross, Ardoyne said he was deliberately targeted. "We don't want this. The community is tired of it," he said. "For a young person to be involved in 'recreational rioting' is not acceptable." Despite a number of skirmishes, police welcomed the fact the parade passed off without major incident.
