There is no future for the GAA if the plot-and-counter-plot language of the French Revolution, used in Kieran Shannon's article (Sport, 15 March) on the Cork hurling dispute, is to be the sole method of discussion when differences of opinion arise within the organisation. This world-renowned Irish amateur sporting organisation, based on voluntary effort and pride in wearing a county jersey, deserves better than the small-minded, petty, begrudging attitude of mind shown in Shannon's article towards fellow members of the GAA. His attitude is, to quote himself, a 'travesty' of the ideals that the GAA is endeavouring to pursue.
