Russian ice-cream plays the presidential race card
A Russian ice-cream brand has been accused of racism after using an image of Obama outside the White House to sell their Duet ice-cream. The ad sparked commentary throughout the blogosphere, with the Huffington Post accusing the ad agency of racism, along with the subtext of Obama surfing into power on the wave of fashion (hence 'flavour of the week'), with the slightly more unsubtle 'black in white' gag of a cartoon of a black man in sunglasses beside a while woman with a pink bow on the wrapper.
UAE claims girls aren't safe from 'the fourth gender'
Dubai has been slammed for starting a campaign to rid the population of lesbians. A social affairs ministry official said "Their deviant behaviour threatens other normal girls. This is why we had to to protect society from this menace."

In New Jersey, the board of cosmetology and hairstyling (yes, there is one) is moving to ban Brazilian waxes state-wide after two women sued following infections from a wax. Genital waxing was never technically legal in the state but, up until now, regulators didn't enforce the law.

Mating toads have forced the closure of roads in Roxborough, Philadelphia. In March, toads leave the woods and head for a reservoir to find a mate. Ribbit.
