The late Nuala O'Faolain: died a year ago yesterday

Nuala O'Faolain's last novel Best Love Rosie went on sale yesterday on the first anniversary of her death. The internationally acclaimed writer and former Sunday Tribune columnist passed away on 9 May 2008 just four weeks after she spoke about dying on her friend Marian Finucane's Radio 1 programme.


Best Love Rosie was launched posthumously in French in Paris last September. O'Faolain was awarded the prestigious Prix Femina in France in 2006 for her novel The Story of Chicago May. She became internationally known through her two volumes of memoirs Are You Somebody? and Almost There which topped bestseller lists worldwide.
