In Africa, it appears the deathly dry Sahara region was once a swampy world, with the discovery this week of crocodile fossils in the area. Half a dozen new species of crocodile have been found, to which scientists have given rather snappy names: RatCroc, PancakeCroc, DuckCroc, BoarCroc and DogCroc, among others. Scientists believe these ancient crocodiles were far more sophisticated and intelligent than modern crocodiles, as CT scans show remarkable differences in their brains compared to today's crocs. Many of the crocs were over 20 feet long.
Correction officials in Oklahoma are facing opposition to their plans for a Christian Prison. "It is wrong for government to take taxpayers' money and spend it on religious indoctrination," the head of Americans United for Separation of Church and State said.
