Ruairí Quinn's letter (27 September) expressing outrage at Tiernan's attempt at comedy, and the many other letters in similar vein castigating Tiernan, are understandable, and show the revulsion of many Irish readers to this type of low-level 'humour'. Quinn also highlights the necessity and relevance of the role of Holocaust education in order to educate and inform the people in Ireland about intolerance and anti-semitism. A very commendable and worthy cause. To assist him in this role, may I recommend him introducing his HETI colleagues to The Holocaust Industry, in which the author, Norman G Finkelstein, describes in great detail the horrors, not only of the Holocaust but the events following the end of hostilities in the second world war.
