Gardaí in Limerick are investigating a stabbing on the Dock Road area of the city on Friday night.

A man in his 20s is believed to have suffered a number of stab wounds when he was involved in an altercation with another man.

He was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

A man in his teens was questioned in relation to the incident.
