Portraits hung in empty halls and bowls full of tasty snacks


A group of high school students in Smith­field, Utah last week finished the largest recreation of a master painting after replicating Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' by using two tonnes of breakfast cereal as material. 150 students recreated the painting in 72x90 foot form in a gym in an exercise that teacher Doyle Geddes started "to break up the monotony of the classroom routine". The cereal will now be used to feed pigs.


Back off the post as Polish parcel thief is returned to sender


A Polish thief came up with an ingenious way of breaking and entering by posting himself to business buildings in large parcels and posting himself and his loot out. Stani­slaw Muchy, 39, was found out when a dis­grunt­led accomplice contacted police.

Warehouse workers at Carlsberg in Copen­hagen are continuing to strike over measures reducing the amount of beer they are allowed to drink while working. Previously, staff were allowed to drink three beers outside of lunchtime, but now their boozing is limited to the canteen.
