Englishman claims to be first bunny 'hopnotist'

A 60-year-old Englishman is claiming to be the world's first rabbit hypnotist after putting several rabbits in a trance. Cliff Penrose from Cornwall has bred rabbits for 30 years. "You can tell when a rabbit is under because his back legs completely relax," he explained. "The creature is unable to move, in a trance-like state, sometimes for up to 10 minutes." Penrose uses the technique on 'problem' pet rabbits. "They emerge from the trance a happier, more relaxed pet," he said.

A man was arrested in South Carolina last week after assaulting a motel guest with a snake over an argument about loud music. Tony Smith, 29, marched into a fellow guest's room and hit him in the face with a four-foot python.

Convicts out on the lamb in Argentina

Two convicts who escaped an Argentinean prison evaded a 300-strong search party of police by dressing as sheep and hiding in fields. The men who fled the maximum security prison are still at large, wearing sheep heads and full body sheepskins.

The long arm of the law
