Catholic Youth Care (CYC) has promoted and supported locally run community organised Summer Projects in the greater Dublin area for the past 40 years. Since 2006, when Garda Vetting Procedures were introduced, all volunteers, leaders, helpers in Summer Projects have been subject to Garda vetting and have undergone Child Protection Training.

As a condition of registration and funding all youth clubs and summer projects must adhere to the CYC Recruitment Process which requires that all new leaders attend Child Protection and Leadership Training and, in accordance with new State Directives, go through Garda Vetting Procedures.
