Smash and grab at Wicklow ATM
A bank machine was stolen in Co Wicklow early yesterday morning after raiders smashed through the front of a shop. Four raiders used a stolen four-wheel-drive to smash through the front of the Spar shop in Roundwood at about 4am. They then ripped a section of the ATM from its moorings inside the shop. It is unclear how much money was in the machine.
Woman dies in Sligo crash
A 20-year-old woman was killed in a road accident in Co Sligo yesterday. The crash happened shortly after 8am yesterday morning at Rathcormac on the main Sligo to Bundoran road. It is believed the young woman stepped off a bus and was hit by another vehicle. Another woman was seriously injured in a car crash in Co Leitrim in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Four charged after car chase
Four men appeared in court in Co Louth yesterday in connection with a highspeed chase last Thursday night. The four, all with addresses in Dublin, are charged with two counts of burglary each at Cookstown, Ardee and Ballybarrack near Dundalk.

Fishing skippers and crew met in Athlone yesterday morning to discuss the outcome of
10 hours of talks with
two government ministers on the industry's financial crisis. A blockade of Cork port will extend to Dublin and Foynes this week if protestors are not happy with the proposals.
