GRAHAM Brennan from Clondalkin was one tens of thousands of shoppers who descended on Dublin city yesterday to take advantage of the first ever St Stephen's Day sales. Brennan bagged a bed for €1 after queuing outside Clery's from lunchtime on Christmas Day.

A spokeswoman for Brown Thomas said: "It's even busier than Christmas Eve. People literally ran into the shop. There were straight lines being made for Gucci, Mulberry and Lanvin."

At Arnotts on Henry Street, hundreds of people turned up to catch a glimpse of X Factor contestants Jedward, who launched the sale.
