Gardaí have launched an investigation after a failed attempt to steal an ATM machine using a digger in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at around 4.30 am in Clones, Monaghan.
Two people were seen fleeing from the scene after they were unable to detach the Ulster Bank ATM situated on the diamond in the town centre.
