For "additional expense" of being a minister, TD or senator

Rate: €5, 482.73 a year for TD to €14,595.64 for Taoiseach.

2. Overnight

Can be claimed for each of the approximately 100 days the Dáil sits and up to five overnights for meetings in the Dáil and up to 25 overnights to use Dáil facilities.

Rate: €139.67 per night for TDs living 15 miles outside the Dáil area.

3. Travel to Leinster house

Rate: €61.53 per day for those living within 15 miles of the Dáil. 95 cents per mile (civil service rates) for those living outside 15 mile limit.

4. Constituency Office allowance

€8,888.17 start-up costs (one-off). €8,888.17 per year to maintain.

5. Travel within constituency

€2,745 per year: €5,489 per year; €8,782 per year depending on size and population of constituency.

6. Constituency Telephone allowance

€6,348 per year.

7. Special Secretarial Allowance

€41,092 for the purchase of secretarial equipment and services or employing temporary staff member.

8. Postal

1,750 pre-paid envelopes a year (worth approximately €1,000 a year)

9. Phones

€750 every 18 months for purchase of phone (including car kit). Cost of telephone calls from Leinster House €25 per day for non-personal mobile calls while abroad on official business
