Leinster club SFC quarter-finals
Portlaoise (Laois) v Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin), O'Moore Park, Portlaoise, Live TG4
Game of the day, and hopefully more free-flowing and a lot less unruly than last weekend's game of the day between Crossmaglen and Gall's. Like that showdown in Crossmaglen, this is a clash of the past two champions within their province. Kilmacud have the depth and power to come away with the win here.
Verdict Kilmacud Crokes
Garrycastle (Westmeath) v Mattock Rangers (Louth), Cusack Park, Mullingar
Garrycastle have a lot going for them, such as their greater familiarity of the match venue and that serious test Longford Slashers subjected them to a fortnight ago.
Verdict Garrycastle
Skryne (Meath) v Castletown (Wexford), Páirc Tailteann, Navan
After conceding four goals in the county final, Skryne appear to have tightened things up at the back judging by their win over Rathnew two weeks ago.
Verdict Skryne
Old Leighlin (Carlow) v Rhode (Offaly), Dr Cullen Park, Carlow
Nobody played better football this year without earning a Vodafone or GPA All Star nomination than Niall McNamee but he'll hardly be denied a place in the Leinster club semi-final here.
Verdict Rhode
Connacht club SFC Semi-Finals
Killererin (Galway) v Ballintubber (Mayo) Tuam Stadium, TG4 (deferred)
Killererin are more familiar with this level of competition and this venue, and judging by the teams' respective county final victories, the posts as well. But it's a monumental achievement to get anything more than eight scores off this remarkably tenacious Ballintubber side.
Verdict Ballintubber
Glencar/Manorhamilton (Leitrim) v St Brigid's (Roscommon) Páirc Seán MacDiarmada, Carrick-on-Shannon
Brigid's are looking good to reach a fourth provincial final in the last five years, and for that matter, their second provincial title in four years.
Verdict St Brigid's
Munster Club SFC Semi-Finals
Stradbally (Waterford) v Doonbeg (Clare) Dungarvan, 2.00
Whichever teams gets to nine scores first will probably win this. That's the pattern in Clare-Waterford club games anyway.
Verdict Stradbally
Dr Crokes (Kerry) v Monaleen (Limerick) Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney, 2.00
Watching the Kerry county final one Sunday and the Mayo county final the next were like watching two completely different sports for most TG4 viewers last month. The one out west was as attritional as a game of mud rugby; the Kerry county final, as fluent and end-to-end as basketball. Dr Crokes are playing the best football in the country at the moment and even without Ambrose O'Donovan, who was in brilliant form before sustaining an injury in a car accident last week, they're looking good for a rematch against old foes Nemo Rangers, and possibly even Crossmaglen Rangers too.
Verdict Dr Crokes
Ulster Club SFC Quarter-Final
Burren (Down) v Coleraine (Derry) Páirc Esler, Newry
Coleraine have come from nearly nowhere – a GAA club in the heart of real marching country amounts to pretty much the same thing – to win what most of their neighbours would call the Londonderry county championship. But as remarkable as their season has been, it will probably end in Newry today while Kevin McKernan's side rolls on.
Verdict Burren
Tipperary SFC Final
Aherlow v Loughmore-Castleiney, Semple Stadium, Thurles
This county championship in Tipperary could come down to a tale of three exceptional forwards. Declan Browne's absence through injury probably hurt last year's champions Moyle Rovers as much as Noel McGrath's brilliance in Loughmore-Castleiney's county semi-final victory a fortnight ago. Those two All Stars though will probably be eclipsed in this particular championship by Barry Grogan, who continues to run up Brownesque tallies, notching 0-10 in Aherlow's semi-final win.
Verdict Aherlow
