Akon, the Senegalese singer with a penchant for molesting/ assaulting fans on stage, is responsible for some of the most annoying pop songs/ringtones of recent times, and here, while he leaves aside the Chipmunk-style vocal samples, his tunes remain irritating.
A lazy, stagnant and unoriginal production template makes up the foundation for every song, coupled with nonsensical lyrics for the sake of rhyming like, "wish that I could stop by/and never say hi" – WHAT? Seriously, WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT?
Akon has a good voice, but he doesn't do anything with it. Every song sounds the same, musically and lyrically; Akon fancies someone, throw in a beat and synths, overdub the vocals in sections, Akon really fancies someone. Probably sounds alright on a mobile phone at the back of a bus, if that's your thing.
