The Stone Roses' shambolic and tuneless demise just so happened to be in front of a bemused 60,000 festival-goers. The band had stumbled on, guitarist John Squire and drummer Reni having been replaced by Aziz Abrahim and Robbie Maddix. The classic 'Fools' Gold' is notable by its absence from the set. Apparently, Maddix was unable to emulate Reni's original rhythm.
