JUST when you think there is nothing to be added to that girl/guitar/splash of electronica formula, along comes someone you've never heard of to make you think again.

Young, Welsh and nothing whatsoever to do with Simon, Cate Le Bon has many other things in her favour: not least a debut album so vocally pure it's hard to believe she has only a contribution to a Neon Neon single on her CV thus far. The songs have a Hunky Dory simplicity; the singing sounds like nothing less than a Welsh Nico. (Leeko?) Spellbinding.
