Pianist Keith Jarrett, bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Jack DeJohnette have been the high watermark of American jazz for the last quarter of a century, and they have comprehensively redefined the art of the piano trio. The trouble is, they've been minutely documented in the process by uber sound guru Manfred Eicher and his ECM record label, and there may already be too many recordings of this trio in the universe. So, if you are a fan, you probably have more than enough. If you are new to the trio, this is not the place to start (try the new Setting Standards box set, also on ECM). If, on the other hand, you're what the trade mags like to call a completist, then step right up.
