Yeasayer

Yeasayer, a clattering experimental band from Brooklyn, threw out a gem of a record three years ago, and for this, their second, they're even more invigorated, jittery and 'up' than on their first effort. They've pretty much ditched the world music-ish trimmings of their past to focus on a more beat- and synth-driven sound, from the Fever Ray-flavoured opener of 'The Children', to a total dancefloor buzz in 'O.N.E.' and the schizophrenic '80s 'Love Me Girl'. It's an interesting change but more importantly, the wonderful strangeness of this band's music is still at its heart.
