Up to 150 Lufthansa Technik employees are to lose their jobs. In a statement issued this evening, the company says it has put every worker on protective notice. It intends to begin laying off people from Monday 27th of April. Management has described the decision as regrettable and avoidable. A total of 465 people are employed at the company's facility at Rathcoole in Dublin. The aircraft maintenance firm has been embroiled in a row with unions over changes to working conditions. It's been trying to implement a cost cutting plan aimed at keeping the facility viable. A Labour Court recommendation on the plan was rejected by workers.
