Chanel Enigma, €45.50

Whether you’re after a heavy, Bardot-inspired, smokey eye or just a light wash of pale pink, this new Enigma eyeshadow quad caters for both looks. Love the colours of shimmering peach, chocolate grey, violet grey and deep plum.

Estée Lauder Blue Dahlia, €45

Blue eyeshadow is back but clearly not along the Pat Butcher lines. Tom Pecheux, creative make-up director at Estée Lauder, used it at the Derek Lam show, and this palette is a sophisticated take on the trend.

Bobbi Brown Denim and Rose, €52

There’s no need to lug multiple products around when this Denim and Rose palette crams so many sweet colours into a light, zipped denim case. The shades are all brand new (except the Navajo eyeshadow, which is one of Bobbi’s favourites). We especially like the Hot Rose lipgloss.

If you are intrigued yet intimidated by strong colour, this palette in No 2 contains wearably muted eyeshadow shades. There are four colours plus a highlighter so you can go as natural looking or as dramatic as you want. Great packaging too.

For when you want to accentuate those last vestiges of holiday tan, these Shimmer Cubes work a treat. The colours are rich and sparkling and they have great crease resistant properties. You can also remove just one colour from the pack for make-up on the move.
