Jogging bottoms are back from the wilderness this season, so save yours for special occasions, not just for the sofa. They're sharp this season in grey marl or khaki, nonchalantly rolled at the bottom and worn with none-too-prissy heels – block wedge sandals, clogs or peep-toe ankle boots only, nothing strappy or wobbly. Decade-old joggers with baggy knees are not acceptable, ditto anything bobbly. Vest €39, sheer trousers €61, peep-toe boots €95, all by Topshop.
Everywhere you turn this season fashion is understated and glamourous. We can think of no better accessory than this beautiful bag by Chloe. From the moment we set eyes on the Ethel bag in this stunning honey coloured leather we knew we had to have it. At €750 it's an investment piece but we figure with Ethel on our arm everything else we're wearing can come straight from the thrift shop.
Who doesn't want to dress like Audrey Tatou in Coco Before Chanel? But who can afford it, right? Well we all can know with this beautiful dress from Next. At just €75 we're channeling our inner Parisian seductress. There's also a matching jacket for more formal occasions.
* We've always loved dorothy perkins but we have a special place in our hearts for their DP premium collection. The second instalment for spring/summer, called Boudoir, has hit the shops and features delicate lace, bow details and soft unstructured tailoring. For colour think nudes and sherberts with touches of charcoal grey and black. Perfect for this seductive, soft season.
* Sometimes practical items are incredibly ugly which is why we thank our lucky stars for Fit Flop. Their prettiest sandal so far has just been launched and it's a stunner. The Pietra sports a sleek metallic microfibre lined upper embellished with three resin jewel stones down the toe line. The whole sandal is built on a slimmed width version for their muscle-toning Microwobble board midsols so you still get that workout while you walk.
* It's spring, so the annual hunt for the perfect tee begins. Well, why not take a trip to French Connection where they have partnered with Magic Bus, a not-for-profit organisation in India that works with children living in extreme poverty throughout the country. To support this fantastic charity French Connection has designed three T-shirts for women with illustrations that capture the essence of authentic India, €25. Very cute.
