This has become a cult product amongst beauty writers and bloggers, the Elasticizer is applied before shampooing and conditioner. It gave our tester's fine limp hair a new lease of life. She reported her mane was more manageable and looked fuller and frizz free. Available from www.philipkingsley.com and Reds Salon, Dublin.
Kérastase products are generally hard-working and effective and this masque, specifically for colour-treated hair was no exception. It had a pleasant smell and hair didn't frizz out at the end as it normally does when blow-dried, but was a lot sleeker. She had tried treatment oils before, which weren't as good as this, and although it is fairly expensive, she thinks it's worth the investment.
Our tester's first impressions were that this had a really nice nutty smell and a rich creamy texture. It has Brazil nut, sesame and olive oils, which are meant to moisturise and condition the hair, as well as add gloss. Our guinea pig has coloured hair which is damaged and brittle and found that her hair felt much softer afterwards and noticeably less frizzy looking.
There are some great ingredients in this masque including acai berry and Argan oil, which is a Moroccan oil said to have miracle properties. However, our tester wasn't won over by this product which left her hair flat and with a feeling of residue. It left her fine hair difficult to manage afterwards and although her hair's condition looked improved, she still had the feeling of product overload in it. Available from salons.
