ONE of two men who drowned while attempting to save people from a capsized boat in Cavan last week was buried yesterday.
Simon Delaney (21) was buried in front of family and friends at St Ultan's Cemetery in Killinkere following funeral mass. At his removal on Friday night, the former underage Cavan and Killinkere footballer was described as a gentle, fun-loving man for whom helping others had played a large part in life. Delaney died along with Dublin resident Matthew Gibbons when both men tried to rescue the occupants of an overturned boat on Gallon Lake.
