2009 was a record year for illegal cigarette seizures with the largest seizure ever coming last October when 120 million cigarettes were seized in Greenore Port, Co Louth, customs officials revealed yesterday.


Other seizures during the year included two horns from the Gemsbok antelope and two dead monkeys.
