I am seeking information, or guidance to finding information, on a female Irish convict (my great-great-great-grandmother) named Mary Caulfield.
Mary was convicted in Galway on 10 April 1835 for stealing a cloak. Mary was sentenced to seven years and sailed to Australia on the convict ship Thomas Harrison from Cork/Dublin on 19 February 1836. According to records in Australia she was a widow with two children, and only one child, Patrick, survived the sea voyage. Mary later married Michael Scaysbrook and had three more children.
I cannot find information on Patrick's fate and wonder if he returned to Ireland later in life. I am hoping some kind person will point me in the right direction as I would dearly like to find if there is any history on this lady or her first husband and children before her sentence to Australia.
