COLD-CASE detectives and local gardaí investigating the murder of teenager Raonaid Murray 10 years ago plan to travel to the UK and the US in the coming months to re-interview witnesses and to speak to new people who may have information about the killing.
Up to 30 gardaí continue to work on the case, with detectives at Dun Laoghaire aided by the garda's cold-case team poring over 3,500 statements and 5,000-plus questionnaires. Last week, gardaí released descriptions of the two people – a man and a woman – now known to have been sighted separately in the area close to the time 17-year-old Raonaid encountered her attacker. It is understood that gardaí suspect a woman may have carried out the fatal stabbing while a man witnessed it.
