A 23-year-old Irish student is in a critical condition in a Chicago hospital after being attacked early Friday morning.


Natasha McShane, a postgraduate student from UCD, was studying at the University of Illinois. It has been reported McShane and her friend Stacy Jurich were attacked by a man with a baseball bat after a night out. The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing assistance to McShane's family.
