THE Defence Forces has said the crew of an Irish patrol vessel damaged in stormy waters was never in any danger.


The LE Roisín sustained damage to the "flare" area of her bow in heavy weather off the Blasket Islands on New Year's Eve.


The Naval Service carried out repairs to the vessel and the cost came to €4,000. The ship has since returned to service.
