HOWTH coastguard in Dublin is running a special campaign this June bank holiday weekend in order to promote an awareness of water safety.
The event takes place amidst nationwide appeals for people to take care in the water or in areas around the sea.
The coastguard has urged anyone who spots a person or persons on cliffs, beaches, lakes, rivers or at sea who appear to be in distress, to immediately contact emergency services at 112.
