THE second annual Larkin Hedge School event is due to take place from this Friday.

The festival is a celebration of Irish culture, concentrating on music, song, dance, poetry and literature. Among the events planned over the weekend are a 'singing breakfast' with the Liberties History Group, a celebration of the life and music of Chicago chief of police Francis O'Neill and a gala concert at the Teachers Club, Parnell Square, Dublin.
