THE Dublin Rape Crisis Centre has appealed for people to be vigilant over the bank holiday weekend with an increase in sexual assaults during holiday periods.

The centre also advised that attacks have become more violent than ever and that most victims are the targets of somebody they know.

Chief Executive Ellen O'Malley-Dunlop said an increasing number of people have been reporting attacks.
