A RESCUED seal that was treated for extensive injuries to his hind flipper is to be released back to the sea tomorrow in a public ceremony.


'Ciaran' the harbour seal pup was rescued by Ciaran Turner and Patsy from Loop Head in Clare last August.


He had to have surgery for his injuries which was performed by the veterinary unit at University College Dublin.


Members of the public have been invited to witness him being returned to the wild from Kilkee Beach, Clare at 2pm.
