It's hard to believe this is Ebony Bones' debut, given that she's been gigging for some time now. While her act is made for the stage – all dressed up in crazy fabric hoops with a fabulous motley crew drenched in glitter make-up – there's a great liveliness here, thankfully answering the 'can she transfer the live energy to disc?' question. At times, this comes across as the soundtrack to a musical in post-apocalyptic London where only zombie hipsters with drums survive, but that's hardly a bad thing now, is it?
