Soft, slouchy and studded, this is everything we want in a bag right now. Extra points for the nude colour as well as for its versatility – you could bring it to work or you could bring it to a festival. Best of all, it's not one of those imitation Chanel quilted numbers that the world and its mother (hands up, we're guilty too) are toting right now. This beauty is from River Island, €87.50
We will start dying our own hair, we will give up buying lattes, we will only eat from the early bird menu and we will save up every spare penny for these Marc Jacobs wayfarers instead. Two-toned (so very spring/summer '10), oversized (thus covering a multitude of sins) and very very cool. If you were to buy only one thing this summer, why not these? €100 from asos.com
Dublin's Dawson Street and its immediate environs is now the beauty junkie's favourite haunt. From urban spas (Mandala at La Stampa) to chic brow bars (Elysium) and serious beauty clinics (Therapie), Revive Express is the newest addition to the scene. Modelled on the very New York concept of 'glamour to go', it offers bespoke manicures, pedicures, facials, under-eye treatments and more to those who don't have an entire day to devote to their beauty maintenance. Brands here include cult classics like Eve Lom, Bare Minerals, Essie and Dermalogica and you don't have to make an appointment. Early birds will also appreciate that it opens at 8.30am. Find it at 49A Dawson Street, Dublin 2. Tel 01 7071888; www.reviveexpress.ie.
Cowshed, the beauty brand from chic country bolthole Babington House in Somerset, has the kind of amazing body washes that will actually have you leaping out of bed in the morning in anticipation of your shower (highly recommended: Grumpy Cow Uplifting bath and shower gel, ¤21.50). It also does great candles and essential oils, and while they tick all the right buzzword boxes (organic and fair trade botanicals, high ratio of essential oils, no animal ingredients and not tested on animals) we're equally in love with the packaging and the fact that a single drop of its trademark infusion of herbs and flowers hand-picked from the Victorian walled garden at Babington House goes into every Cowshed formulation. Stunning, stunning, stunning. Alleged Best Dressed Ladies at Irish racing fixtures should sit up and take note that matchy-matchy and garish satins is not the most elegant route. This is.
Are you Kate Bosworth? Do you have endless legs? Will you be okay if people point and laugh at you? If the answer is no then desist and do not attempt this look.
Admittedly the flavour goes a little flat after a very short while but we got ours in an Asian supermarket and because the label's in Chinese, we think they're the coolest thing ever.
Inspired by the '50s, ethical, Irish, very feminine and flattering in the extreme, something from the Charlotte & Jane label will get you through any big event this summer. This silk dress is called the Maggie and costs €205. www.charlotteandjane.com
