GARDAÍ in Athlone arrested two men in connection with a cocaine and cannabis haul worth an estimated €1.4m.
Members of the Westmeath Divisional Drugs Unit, together with local gardaí, made the arrests following the discovery of 20kg of cocaine and 5kg of cannabis resin during a planned search of an address in the town on Friday night.
The two men, aged 42 and 43, were being questioned yesterday at Athlone garda station.
