A Polish mother and her teenage daughter were killed in a road crash in Co Mayo yesterday. The single-vehicle crash occurred near Ballina just before 12pm. The woman was 39 and her daughter 15 years old. Two men and a woman, who were also in the car, were injured but their injuries were not life threatening.


Meanwhile, a 64-year-old woman died after being struck by a car outside Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
