Hoodie wars break out as a Jedi believer wins an apology from a British job centre which threw him out for refusing to take off his hood. Security guards removed Chris Jarvis, 31, a Star Wars fan and member of the International Church of Jediism, from the Essex employment centre, but when he complained on the grounds of religious discrimination, he won himself an apology.


"I was just standing up for my beliefs," said Chris. "Muslims can walk around in whatever religious gear they like, so why can't I?"

Triple blackbelt Kevin Garwood, 61, is teaching the OAPs cane classes after many said they were too scared to go out after dark. "They need to know where they can hit without causing serious damage," says the Norwich sensei.
