SINN Féin held a national day of action yesterday in support of Dublin Bus and its workers.

The party said that a government decision to withdraw 120 buses from the capital's transport network had been "incomprehensible".

On Wednesday, bus unions had called off a one-day stoppage for yesterday pending fresh talks with management tomorrow.

Sinn Féin vice-president Mary Lou McDonald said the cutbacks were a bad decision for company workers, the people of Dublin and for the environment.
