Conor McMorrow asks the question why anybody who made a personal decision not to buy a house should subsidise a bailout of those who did (News, 16 May). It is a valid question.

The exact same question has to be asked in relation to the banks. Why are many ordinary people, who were personally prudent with their own money, being forced to subsidise a bailout of banks who were reckless with everyone else's money?
