Boyzone's bid to re-establish themselves as one of the most popular pop bands in Europe has been badly damaged by Ronan Keating's dalliance with a dancer from Leeds, which last week led to the end of his marriage.

The band's new single, 'Love is a Hurricane', was released last week and they were due to fly to Frankfurt this week to promote the single.

It is now uncertain if Keating will join the rest of the group as he attempts to rescue his marriage. Band mate Keith Duffy said the group would continue to promote the single in Germany but declined to comment on whether Keating would join them.

According to a spokeswoman for
Boyzone, "The tour does not start until February 2011, and the single is already released. They are not scheduled to do any promotional material here."

PR guru Max Clifford said upcoming promotional appearances by the band would put Keating under severe media pressure after reports emerged of an alleged affair with Boyzone dancer Francine Cornell.

Keating left the family home in Abington in Malahide last Thursday night and has not returned since. However, manager Louis Walsh said he believed the couple would patch up their differences. "I reckon Ronan and Yvonne will get back together. I believe they could still sort this out between them," he said.

A statement released last Thursday announced the couple's split, but made no reference to the involvement of any third parties.

Speaking in an interview last week before news of the split was announced, Keating admitted his surprise that Yvonne had stayed with him for 12 years. "I can't believe Yvonne has stuck with me for so long. I still get incredibly jealous. I don't like it if Yvonne is out without me. I just can't help it," he said.
