Seven protesters who managed to climb on to the roof of the Anglo Irish Bank in Stephen's Green in Dublin yesterday afternoon were arrested by gardaí. The protest was organised by Eirigí, the Irish socialist Republican Party which was founded four years ago.

The protesters climbed up on the porch roof with banners proclaiming 'People of Ireland. Rise Up'. Other protestors were arrested trying to gain access to the rear of the building.

Gardaí immediately arrived on the scene and after a struggle arrested the protesters.
